The regulations for obtaining a visa to travel to Thailand vary depending on the nationality of the traveler. Here are some common regulations:

1. Visa-exempt countries: Citizens of certain countries are allowed to enter Thailand for a certain period without a visa. The duration of stay varies from 14 to 90 days depending on the country. Examples of visa-exempt countries include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and many European nations.

2. Visa on Arrival: Nationals of certain countries can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport or land border checkpoint in Thailand. The visa on arrival is valid for a stay of up to 30 days :

Andorra, Bhutan, Bulgaria, China ,Cyprus, Ethiopia ,Fiji ,India ,Kazakhstan ,Latvia, Lithuania , Maldives , Malta , Mauritius ,Papua New Guinea ,Romania ,San Marino ,Saudi Arabia ,Taiwan ,Ukraine ,Uzbekistan, Georgia , Mauritius , Russia , Taiwan , Mexico

3. Tourist Visa: Travelers from countries not covered by visa exemption or visa on arrival may need to apply for a tourist visa in advance. This visa allows a stay of up to 60 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days within Thailand.
