Recently, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Cambodian Development Council, Mr. Sun Chanthol, led a government delegation on an official visit to China. This visit, focused on Henan Province and Shanghai, aimed to enhance China-Cambodia economic and trade cooperation while advancing the "2025 Goal of Attracting One Million Chinese Tourists." On March 18, the Cambodian Development Council, in collaboration with Henan Province, hosted the Henan (Zhengzhou) -Cambodia Economic, Trade, Cultural, and Tourism Exchange Conference, marking a new chapter in China-Cambodia cooperation.
Expanding Bilateral Collaboration
The conference brought together nearly 100 government officials, business leaders, trade association heads, and entrepreneurs from China and Cambodia. Key attendees included Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sun Chanthol, Zhengzhou's Acting Mayor Mr. Zhuang Jianqiu, Vice Mayor Ms. Li Fengzhi, Director of the Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce Mr. Wang Baolai, CEO of the Cambodia National Tourism Board Mr. ITH Vichit, and President of GLA Global Logistics Alliance, Ms. Grace Sun. These representatives engaged in strategic discussions to strengthen economic, trade, and cultural relations between Henan and Cambodia.
Deepening Trade and Cultural Exchange
During his opening remarks, Zhengzhou's Acting Mayor Mr. Zhuang Jianqiu welcomed the Cambodian delegation, highlighting Henan’s critical role as a multimodal transport hub under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). He emphasized the strategic integration between Zhengzhou and Cambodia’s Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, positioning it as a key player in reshaping ASEAN's supply chain landscape. This cooperation is expected to drive economic growth and create significant opportunities for businesses in both regions.

Zhengzhou's Vice Mayor Ms. Li Fengzhi elaborated on Henan’s geographical advantages and tourism potential. She emphasized Henan’s rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings, which could contribute to fostering long-term China-Cambodia economic and cultural ties.

Strengthening Economic Partnerships
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sun Chanthol provided insights into Cambodia’s investment policies and economic diversification strategies. He reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation with China across trade, culture, education, and tourism. "China and Cambodia share a deep-rooted friendship," he remarked. "We are eager to move forward together, achieving shared prosperity across multiple sectors."

Industry Promotion and Key Agreements
During the Industry Promotion Session, representatives explored potential collaborations in agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, and tourism. CEO of Cambodia’s National Tourism Board, Mr. ITH Vichit, detailed Cambodia’s foreign investment policies and support for private enterprises, emphasizing, “China is our most significant partner, and we look forward to strengthening our bilateral relations to achieve economic prosperity."
Several key agreements were signed at the event. Cambodia’s national airline formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dengfeng Shaolin Yanlu Martial Arts School and Henan Sports Vocational College. Additionally, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed between Cambodia’s national airline and Zhengzhou Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd. These agreements mark substantial progress in China-Cambodia cooperation in sports education and agricultural development.
Looking Ahead: China-Cambodia Tourism Year 2025
As 2025 marks the 67th anniversary of China-Cambodia diplomatic relations, both nations are set to launch the China-Cambodia Tourism Year. This initiative reflects the strengthening partnership between the two countries, with China solidifying its position as Cambodia’s largest foreign investor. Over the past eight years, China has invested over $20 billion in Cambodia, creating more than 500,000 jobs and significantly contributing to Cambodia’s economic and social development.

Amidst the growing China-Cambodia collaboration, GLA Global Logistics Alliance is expanding its international logistics operations. Recognizing logistics as the backbone of global trade and investment, GLA has established a robust logistics exchange platform, fostering strategic business connections worldwide.

GLA China-Cambodia Trade Cooperation Forum 2025
Building on the success of the Henan-Cambodia Economic, Trade, Cultural, and Tourism Exchange Conference, the 2025 China-Cambodia Trade Cooperation Forum, organized by GLA Global Logistics Alliance, will be held on March 21 in Shanghai, China. Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sun Chanthol, along with global business leaders, will participate in the forum to explore new trade opportunities and discuss strategies to enhance the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, paving the way for sustainable economic growth.
