With Black Friday and Christmas approaching, many ports in the United States have reached the maximum congestion.

Although it is only the end of August, that is, the beginning of the peak season. But at the ports of Los Angeles and long beach on the west coast of the United States, the number of container ships is close to the highest record - nearly 70 ships are waiting here.

At the same time, ports on the east coast of the United States are also intensifying.

The number of ships docked at Savannah port, Georgia is rising, and container ships at California anchorage are on the verge of breaking records.

In fact, as early as the first quarter, the port congestion in California gradually deteriorated.

According to relevant reports, the number of container ships at the port of Los Angeles has set a record in February, and the number of ships waiting in San Pedro has reached 50.

Just last week, data showed that nearly 130 ships were berthed at Los Angeles port / Long Beach port, more than a dozen ships higher than in the first quarter.

In fact, after the surge in the number of ships in the first quarter, more and more ships were berthed in the port.

With a large number of ships leased out by shipping companies, shipping companies can not provide more ships for export goods.

Obviously, this phenomenon will only aggravate the congestion of the port and reduce the turnover rate of imported goods.

Port congestion on the east coast remains unabated

On the east coast, the serious phenomenon of the port mainly occurs in Savannah port, Georgia. Due to weather and other reasons, the port is congested to varying degrees.

Some shipping companies said that the stay time of ships in the port will be increased to one week, and this phenomenon will not change better in the short term.

At the same time, it also said that due to the shortage of truck drivers and warehouse workers, the goods piled up in Savannah port will not be transported out in time.

Maersk said that several ships will be delayed due to port congestion on the east coast this week, and pointed out that insufficient chassis is still a problem to be solved.
