Recently, the epidemic situation has rebounded in many countries, such as India and some European and American countries.

In addition to the above-mentioned countries, Vietnam is currently a country with a serious epidemic. 

According to statistics, an average of nearly 15000 people have been diagnosed. So far, more than 100000 people have been infected in China.

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, has implemented a two-week "city closure order" since the end of July to curb the continuous spread of the epidemic.

Due to the impact of the epidemic, the global supply chain is facing severe challenges. 

Many production bases of world-famous brands in Vietnam have been forced to close.

Vietnam is the world's most important garment manufacturing country, but now nearly one-third of garment factories are closed. 

Many European and American Importers began to worry that they might import from China for Christmas purchases this year.

Port congestion is worsening

Most areas of Vietnam have been closed for nearly half a month, port productivity has decreased, and many ships are waiting in line at the berth.

Moreover, in many ports, less than 50% of the workforce is now working, and the reduction in the number of available truck drivers has made the situation worse, which has led to a sharp decline in factory output in recent weeks.

The person in charge of Saigon new port said: "the sudden rebound of the epidemic has brought a lot of trouble to the terminal. 

For example, the pick-up speed of imported containers has slowed down, resulting in a serious accumulation of containers in the port."

Port officials called on carriers and shippers to quickly dispose of stacked containers to reduce congestion.

At the same time, some freight forwarders said that due to the disruption of the return plans for many ships and the rebound of the epidemic, there were serious delays in truck transportation, customs clearance and terminal manpower were reduced. 

Vietnam will face container shortage in the future.

A spokesman for a liner company said: "the impact of the epidemic on the logistics of Kailai port is still huge, and the operation efficiency has been greatly reduced. At the same time, many ships have stayed here for more than a week.

He also said that barge services had been seriously impacted.

The congestion of the port greatly reduces the efficiency of truck transportation of containers.

In addition, the spread of the epidemic makes some truck drivers isolated, which further reduces the transportation efficiency of trucks.

According to the analysis of relevant logistics experts, the congestion of Vietnamese ports may last for several months, and the shortage of containers reduces Vietnam's export capacity.
