The amount and rates of the air cargo market are getting increased

Recently, the air cargo market has seen an unprecedented frenzy, and the price of cargo has continued to rise. Among them, the routes to the United States, in particular, have been most affected.

A Chinese freight forwarder pointed out: "The volume of China's freight market is increasing every week. At present, in terms of rate levels, the US market is relatively poor."

As usual, the high yield in the United States attracts many airlines to choose this route. As a freight forwarder explained: "When the United States is busy, the rest of the world will suffer because the capacity is absorbed into the higher speed U.S. routes."

The Chinese freight forwarder also added that airlines such as IAG Cargo, which have been looking for higher profit, have taken up a large part of the high-priced North American market.

As some countries have relaxed the demand for bans, the demand for high-tech products has also increased. The Chinese freight forwarder said that Apple started commodity trading two weeks ago and is ready for the iPhone 12 scheduled to be launched in October.

He added: “By the way, those fast Covid-19 test kits are still everywhere on the way to Europe,” he pointed out that the airport terminal is currently crowded with trucks waiting to drop the kits for export.

A cargo company in Singapore added that China’s major airports, as well as airports in Vietnam and Thailand, “are facing high demand in short supply”.

He added: "Europe and the United States still have high tax rates."

Freight forwarders have also reported high charter rates, especially in Europe and the United States in Asia.

"The charter market has also become crazy, especially transpacific. The price is too high if you want to get an aircraft within 10 days," one professional said.

"Air freight is usually in all directions. Demand is booming, so that the interest rates are rising faster than Sherpa Ten zing can reach the summit of Mount Everest."

The Chinese freight forwarder said express delivery and e-commerce are also facing delays.

"All major express companies have suffered huge package delays. In general, they have been slower than usual for more than a week. Express prices have also increased by 20%-30%."

He added that the amount of e-commerce to the UK can no longer move with EU transport, so it requires "multiple charter flights from inland cities in China to Heathrow Airport with a fixed schedule."

He concluded: "In any case, in the next few weeks, there are no positive signs that the aviation market will improve. By next week, the space is full, and there is no doubt that next Monday, as we approach May 1 International Labor Day holiday, we will see another round of interest rate hikes.

"As far as I know, no airline canceled the flight at the time. Usually some airlines would cancel."
