Now the epidemic situation has rebounded in many countries around the world. In this context, the supply chain of many countries has been seriously affected.

Some time ago, due to port congestion, goods could not appear in shopping malls at Christmas. This has triggered a rush to buy from American customers.

The upcoming Chinese traditional festival Spring Festival is a great challenge to China's supply chain. In order to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain during the Spring Festival. Some ports have issued a notice on the extension of container stacking free period to ensure the smooth import and export.

Guangzhou Nansha Port recently issued an important notice. It said that during the epidemic period, in order to ensure the smooth operation of containers in Nansha port during the Spring Festival, the container terminal company decided to introduce measures to extend the stacking free period of foreign trade containers.

There are two important contents:

  • During the period from January 10, 2022 to February 10, 2022, local ordinary containers entering the port will be given an additional 7-day stacking free period for containers with existing stacking free period. But this does not include dangerous goods, OOG and refrigerators.

  • During the Spring Festival, Guangzhou Nansha Harbor Container Terminal Co., Ltd. will be open 24 hours a day.

Coincidentally, Zhongshan port, not far from Nansha port, also issued a notice on the extension of the container free stacking period during the Spring Festival. It said that in order to meet the cargo stacking requirements of our customers, Zhongshan port and Shipping Group Co., Ltd. decided to launch the policy of no stacking period.

Similarly, there are three important points to note

  • From January 10, 2022 to February 28, 2022, promote the barge companies operating at the wharf to provide customers with the extended free storage period policy of foreign trade lucky boxes.

  • During the period from January 17, 2022 to February 20, 2022 (import: calculated from the date of unloading; Export: calculated from the date of entering the gate), the wharf shall be given a 14 day stacking free period for foreign trade ordinary cargo heavy containers (the stacking free period under the agreement shall not be superimposed).

  • From January 17, 2022 to February 28, 2022 (import: calculated from the date of unloading; Export: calculated from the date of entering the gate), the warehouse yard use fee of domestic trade containers (including lucky containers and heavy containers) is exempted (the stacking free period under the agreement is not superimposed).

The current epidemic situation is still grim, and sporadic confirmed cases have appeared in China. In addition, in order to ensure the smoothness of the port, the policies issued by the two ports will bring great help to the circulation of port goods.
